Frequently Asked Questions
What is your editing style?
As you’ll see from my portfolio and social media I definitely lean into the warm and moodiness of an image. I LOVE a grainy black and white photo that gives you the feel of an old film portrait and sometimes I’ll take blurry photos on purpose because again I love the vintage film vibe that it gives off! That being said- there will only be a few of those shots in your gallery. The vast majority of your images will be clean and clear images with that moody and warm feel to them that you’ll see as you browse through the galleries.
Can you alter your editing style for our session?
I will always work with you to create an image that you love and are happy with, but we all have our things we excel at and things we lack in. For example- if you’re looking for a cool toned, traditionally posed image, you likely won’t get that from me! My style is very documentary, rather than posey. I hate “say cheese” and forced moments, instead I will prompt and direct you in a way that creates a laid back and more candid image.
In terms of the actual editing, I have spent years creating a style of images that I think reflects me best. We can chat about which of my images editing you’re more drawn to, but I will not completely change my style for a session. However, ALWAYS happy to recommend you to a photographer that is more of what you’re looking for!
How many images will we receive?
Depending on which package you choose you will find the minimum amount of images given within the info tab! I say a "minimum" of a certain amount because I prefer to give my clients plenty of options and more often than not there ends up being more! Typically I deliver around 60-80 photos per hour of shooting.
Do you travel for sessions?
YES, YES, YES! Take me anywhere! I love seeing new places and adventuring this world. Let's hop on a plane, by boat, a road trip, or a hike- I’m all for it! A travel fee is applied for these types of sessions, so bear that in mind when booking.
Do you give us all of the RAW files?
No, no, no. Just like a magician doesn't reveal his secrets, neither do photographers. You will receive a lovely gallery of retouched images, the RAWS stay with us.
How long have you been a photographer?
Well depends who you ask! My mom will tell you that I've been a photographer since the ripe age of 8. Taking photos of everything and anything I could with my Canon Powershot ELPH 360.Officially though, I've had my photography business since 2017 and have shot hundreds of sessions since then.
Can we meet you before booking?
Absolutely! Let's grab a taco, a drink, take a stroll, enjoy some charcuterie or chat over zoom. I’m always down for new friends and I also think it’s important to know that you connect with your photographer before your session.
What should we wear for photos?
Arguably THE most stressful part of a photoshoot. Don't worry! I’ve got you covered. I have created an EXTENSIVE "What to Wear Guide" that I will send your way once we've booked your session. You can also contact me at any time with any questions, I’m always more than happy to help!
What if we need to raincheck or cancel?
Life happens, and things come up. I totally get it! This stipulation is outlined in the client contract for both our sakes! I’m easy and understanding. I will sort out something that works comfortably for everyone involved.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Unless advertised as a special or promo, I do not! I’ve found that mini sessions often end up being the same amount of work as a full session, and I don't want to be rushed in telling your story in a 15 minute time frame.
